Your first office and your first people
In this tutorial you take an empty project and give it the minimum it needs to be useful: one office and the people who work there. At the end you will have a structure everything else can hang off.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need a project: an administrator creates it from the multi-company panel, or 4HSE creates it when your subscription is activated — see Where a project comes from.
1. Create the office
Section titled “1. Create the office”Open the project and go to Offices.
Click New, fill in the fields and save. You now have a site: a plant, a warehouse, a branch, according to what your organisation has.
2. Choose what the list shows
Section titled “2. Choose what the list shows”Right-click the grid header and pick the columns you want to see.
This looks cosmetic and is not: only the displayed data is exported, so the columns you choose here decide what a CSV export will contain. Getting it right now saves redoing the export later — see Add an office.
3. Register the people
Section titled “3. Register the people”Go to People and click New for each worker: personal data, then save.
Internal and external people both go here. What makes someone “external” is not where they are registered but what they are linked to.
If you already have the list in a spreadsheet, import it instead of typing: Import a list from CSV.
4. Look at what you have built
Section titled “4. Look at what you have built”Select a person. The tabs of their record are all empty, and that is correct — they are the slots the rest of the work will fill: work phases, jobs, actions, events, attachments. See The tabs of a person.
What you have achieved
Section titled “What you have achieved”A project with a site and its workers: the skeleton. Nothing is being tracked yet, because nothing has been assigned.
The next step is to make one worker compliant, the shortest path through the whole product: Get a worker compliant.
